Jalisco is a drink that, due to its ingredients, you might think is a variant of the classic Margarita. However, its colouring and taste are actually not at all the same.
This difference is due to the fact that, in spite of the Jalisco cocktail being characterized by its tequila base, it is not made using a conventional tequila, but instead with Tres Sombreros Citrus Tequila, an aromatic tequila with a lower alcohol content and a distinctive citrus flavour that makes it great fun for creating cocktails.
The Citrus Tequila will bring aroma and flavour to the drink. Complement it with grapefruit juice to give the cocktail a bitter taste and its special colour. Finish the drink with a bit of sugar and a dash of triple sec.
7 cl Tres Sombreros Citrus Tequila
12 cl grapefruit juice
1 dash triple sec
2 spoonfuls of sugar
Pour the ingredients into a 70 cl cocktail shaker with lots of ice and shake for about 12 seconds. Cool the “Long Drink” glass of about 25 cl with ice and get rid of the excess water. Once served, decorate with natural fruit. To reduce the bitterness of the cocktail, you can add sugar to taste.
